Vera Wang – Spring 2012 Collection

29 Nov

Ok, so if you were like me, I am sure you would have been blown away with Vera Wang’s gorgeous Fall 2012 Collection. Guess what? It just keeps getting better. Vera Wang has now released her Spring 2012 Bridal Collection, and I tell you, these gowns are just to die for. I actually love them all – it is so hard to pick a favourite. In Vera’s own words – “An ode to the Paris Opera: Degas… young dancers floating about the stage! Artful and adorable!”. I am speechless – once again Vera proves that Brides can get creative with colour on their wedding day – gone are the days of plain white/ivory wedding gowns!

23 Nov

If you are anything like me, I didn’t even give thought to preserving my wedding bouquet. It was something that I had looked into, but was not something I was too concerned about. On the day of my wedding, I was so blown away by my bouquet of flowers. I instantly wished I had looked into preserving and framing my bouquet. So today, I bring you Framed Flowers and Memorabilia, in the hope that unlike me, if you are considering preserving your flowers, here is somewhere for you to start.

Framed Flowers and Memorabilia have been drying and framing brides bouquets and special occasion flowers for over 20 years. They pride themselves in creating quality frames at exceptionally affordable prices. Framed Flowers and Memorabilia believe that the most important flowers in your life are worth preserving. Framed Flowers and Memorabilia also offer a number of other services to brides including, one of my favourites, the Forever Sand Unity Frames, as well  as framing your wedding cake toppers and marriage certificates. Framed Flowers and Memorabilia offer a completely customised framing service, allowing you to choose from an extensive range of colours, sizes, borders and background colours.

Framed Flowers and Memorabilia services Australia wide and also offer gift vouchers. If you are looking for the perfect gift for your bridesmaids, a small frame can be created with their flowers for a lasting momento of their involvement in your special day – what an amazingly unique gift idea!

Girls Night Out

20 Nov

This one isn’t exactly wedding related, but I thought I would share it with you all anyway. On Friday night my giriles and I were lucky enough to attend the Geebung-Zillmere RSL – Girls Night Out Charity Function. The night was to raise funds for the fabulous “Chicks in Pink” – whose mission is to raise funds to support women with breast cancer at the Mater Hospital. A special shout out to Runway Express Experience for the complimentary tickets – the girls and I had a fabulous night out.

The night started off with a glass of champagne and cocktails for the girls (unfortunately I was the designated driver!) It was also a fantastic opportunity for us to check out all of the local businesses who had stalls set up for the evening. We were then treated to a display by the girls from Pole Fitness at Everton Park.

We were then treated to some lovely horderves, served to us by the boys from Island Heat…and yes….they were topless! YUM!! The boys were also multi-talented. They provided us ladies with food, drinks and massages….yes….MASSAGES! We didn’t even need to get up all night!

Throughout the night we watched Zumba and Bollywood dance performances, listened to chilled out Caribbean music and my sister was lucky enough to win one of the raffle prizes. At the end of the night, the exciting and explosive Traditional Dance group ”TAMA OLE AFI” (Men Of Fire) performed for us. It was absolutely amazing. We had a blast watching them – and even managed to snap a photo with the group!

The night overall was a lot of fun. It was a nice chance to catch up with the girls over a couple of drinks, see some great local businesses, and watch some wonderful performers. Most of all, much-needed money was raised for “Chicks In Pink”.

Inspiration – Preston Bailey

Preston Bailey is quite possibly the most amazingly talented event and floral designer to walk this earth (in my opinion anyway!) So as a regular reader of his website/blog, I thought I would share with you some of my favourite Preston Bailey creations. If you are looking for inspiration or like me, just love looking at pretty things, you really must check out his website – it is jam-packed full or beautiful wedding and event creations and ideas. Preston Bailey is the reason why I love wedding and event planning . He has this insane ability to completely transform raw and ordinary spaces into sumptuous, theatrical environments.
