Oscar de la Renta Spring Bridal 2013

28 Jun

Today I thought I would feature some of the gowns from the Oscar de la Renta Spring Bridal 2013 collection. The majority of the collection was made up of traditional white gowns, which are absolutely stunning, featuring lace, illusion necklines, and layers of tulle. The collection also features gowns in jeweled accents, covered with intricate lace overlays. You also can’t miss the two striking red gowns, which started and ended the collection on the runway. The ready to wear collection appeals to a wide variety of brides, modern, chic, quirky and fun! A number of the dresses in the collection are also made in younger versions, for flower girls. How adorable!

Signature Drinks

26 Jun

So your reception menu is finalised, and your dream wedding cake is designed, so naturally the next step is to focus on the types of drinks that will be served at your reception. We all know the stock standards are your beer, wines, champagnes and soft drinks, but why not mix it up a little, and serve a ‘Signature Drink’. Signature Drinks are becoming more and more popular at wedding receptions and it is a great personal touch to your bar menu. So what is a Signature Drink? It is usually a form of cocktail, which stars either your favourite liquor, may match with your colour scheme or just sounds incredibly delicious! If you are particularly budget conscious, this is a great addition to the standards of beer, wine and champagne, rather than having an open bar. Here are some of my favourites to get your mouth watering!

1. Something Blue

Ingredients: Blue Curacao, White Wine & Ginger Ale

Method: Build the ingredients in a champagne flute. Serve & enjoy.

Peach Delight

1 May

I just love my local coffee shop. They always provide me with beautiful flower inspiration while drinking my cup of morning coffee.  Today a vase of peach and yellow (well you could almost say  tangerine) Gladioli awaited my arrival. Gladioli are a stunning flower, especially with the contract against their green stalks. Just glorious!

Kim Kardashian – White House Correspondents’ Dinner

30 Apr

Happy Monday! Today I thought I would share with you a little Celeb Inspiration. Over the weekend the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner was held, and I must say some of the frocks were amazing. However, my favourite was worn by Miss Kim K! Kim covered up her famous curves in a high necked, floor length, green velvet gown with white lace sequinned belt and shoulder panels. With her trademark smoky eye make-up and pale lipstick look, Kim kept it simple with her hair and accessories. Kim looked demure and pulled of this old-hollywood style dress!

Vera Wang has just released her Spring 2013 Bridal Collection, and she has just done it again! I am forever blown away with Vera’s creations. I am in love with shades of red at the moment and I was so excited to see the 15 gowns in this collection. The gowns feature her trademark hand rolled details and are exquisite in every way!
